Hop into the back of the covered vans that is the signature mode of transportation on the island of Bequia.
-
Drive through the main town of Port Elizabeth as we head to Fort Hamilton, an old fort 300ft above sea level where passengers enjoy a magnificent view over Admiralty Bay. Here passengers can see the cannon used by the French centuries ago in their war against the British.
-
Then passing through Spring, move along the Atlantic shore line into Industry Bay where we visit The Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary for a guided tour by Orton King, who spends his time tending to the endangered Hawksbill sea turtles from birth until they are ready to go back into the sea.
- Then head over to Mt. Pleasant back through the town of Port Elizabeth. On this hill you enjoy magnificent views of homes and the bays that surround the island
- Finally, crisscrossing back through Port Elizabeth over to Lower Bay, for lunch and a wonderfully deserving swim.
Pick up from Lower Bay transfer back to Port Elizabeth to catch the ferry.
