Day 3

You'll be picked up in Paramaribo and transferred to Marienburg, where you'll board a boat headed to Plantage Resort Frederiksdorp. Upon arrival, you'll have time to settle in before setting off on a guided tour of the estate, which includes a visit to the historical Story Museum.

At 2:00 PM, you'll begin the Bonitrail tour—a walk through the forest that features an exhibition highlighting the life of freedom fighter Boni and offers various perspectives on slavery. At 4:00 PM, you'll depart by boat for a Dolphin Spotting excursion, where you'll have the chance to see pink-bellied dolphins in the estuary of the Commewijne River.

Day 1 - 8

This immersive 8-day cultural and nature tour takes you on a richly guided journey across Suriname and Guyana, highlighting their shared colonial history, vibrant local cultures, and stunning natural landscapes. Starting in Paramaribo, you'll explore the UNESCO-listed inner city with visits to Fort Zeelandia, Independence Square, the wooden cathedral, and the famous Mosque and Synagogue that share a courtyard. You'll then travel into the Commewijne district to explore preserved colonial plantations like Peperpot, learn about the region's plantation and military history at Fort Nieuw Amsterdam, and enjoy nature walks in protected parks. The adventure continues with a full day visit to Jodensavanne, a historic Jewish settlement and former sugar plantation, followed by an overnight stay at Plantage Resort Frederiksdorp. There, you’ll explore the estate’s history and take the Bonitrail forest walk, which includes stories of resistance during slavery, and a dolphin-watching boat tour. After a relaxing morning, you return to Paramaribo before taking a short international flight to Georgetown, Guyana. From there, you travel overland and by boat to Fort Island and Fort Kyk-over-Al, ending the day at the beautiful Baganara Island Resort. You'll spend two nights here with opportunities for kayaking, birding, a visit to Bartica, and a trip to Parrot Island, known for its flocks of colorful birds at sunset. There’s also time for optional activities like karaoke or a movie night. The tour includes a scenic flight to Kaieteur Falls, the world’s tallest single-drop waterfall, where you'll spend two hours exploring its untouched beauty. Afterward, you fly back to Georgetown for an overnight stay at Grand Coastal Hotel. On your final day, you have the option to explore Georgetown’s landmarks—including St. George’s Cathedral, the National Museum, the Botanical Gardens, and the Sea Wall—before transferring to the airport for your return flight to Paramaribo.
